Come join Tri-State Historical Fencing and learn the basics of HEMA.
HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) is an art and combat sport derived primarily from the study of the books and treatises of historical fencing masters.
This intro course will focus on the essentials of longsword fencing in the Italian style, as it was taught by Achille Marozzo and Fiore dei Liberi, including basic guards, footwork, fencing theory, set plays or techniques, and freeplay. HEMA is great for anyone interested in medieval/renaissance history, martial arts, fitness, or sword fighting.
