Into the Frog Swamp: Jungian Conceptions of the Unconscious in Practice

In this talk Michael Monhart explores some central ideas in Jungian psychology and how these ideas manifest in both a clinical and personal context. With Jung’s wide-ranging learning and the broad scope of concepts such as archetypes and the collective unconscious, the practical application of Jung’s method can at times be lost amidst theoretical speculation. Micheal focuses in particular on formulations of individuation and the complex, the specific features of Jungian dream interpretation, and on looking for the archetypal level of an image. The talk is oriented toward both clinicians and the general public curious about Jung.
