“In Search of the Whey: Tracking down a Balkan cheese on the verge of extinction and why it matters to us in NWCT.” Perkins has spent over 12 years traveling across Bosnia & Hercegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia seeking out traditional food producers.
Babs combines her photographs with extensive ethnographic field research and works with local producers and organizers in Hercegovina to help them better tell their stories and advocate on their own behalf for recognition and resources in hopes of ensuring a future for the producers and the product itself.
