In this faux 19th century, silent supernatural epic, a drunken applejack salesman becomes North America's greatest fur trapper by defeating hundreds of beavers to get his girl. In the tradition of Guy Maddin — with a big dose of Looney Tunes and Super Mario Bros. mixed in — Director Mike Cheslick gets surreal and flat-out wacky faster then it takes the buckteeth dam builders to gnaw down a stump. All of the woodland creatures are played by humans in cartoon-style fur suits. Cheslick co-wrote the screenplay with Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, who stars as the determined trapper.
