Attendees will join the campers from the Gardiner Recreation Camp to hold hands to create a human chain and “hug” the building to show support for the library and all it does for the community. According to Library Director Nicole Lane, “The “Hug Around the Library” is an opportunity to acknowledge everything the Gardiner Library and all public libraries do for their communities. Just as importantly it is a time to come together and celebrate. The Gardiner Library wouldn’t be the special place it is without the people who use, work, and volunteer here.” The hug will be photographed by drone and snacks and cider will be served.
