For their season finale, the Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra (HVSO)— lead by conductor Andre Raphel—will be honoring Maurice Ravel's 150th birthday with a modern rendition of his 1910 Mother Goose Suite. William Suh, winner of the 2023 Hudson Valley Spring Competition for cello, will be performing a version of Shostakovich’s evocative Cello Concerto No.1, followed by a full-orchestra performance of Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams and Edward Elgar’s beloved 19th century Enigma Variations.
