The 34th Hudson Valley Beltane Festival brings a riot of spring color and pagan pageantry to Stone Mountain Farm in New Paltz. A cross between a Renaissance fair, a community picnic, and a woodland rave, this family-friendly fete is anchored by the Beltane Pageant—a wild whirl of myth, music, aerial dance, and giant puppets courtesy of the Vanaver Caravan. Expect frolicking fairies, ceremonial maypole dances, prancing hobbyhorses, and enough flower crowns to make Coachella blush. Bonus: It’s donation-based, and all are welcome—just bring your reveling spirit (and maybe a tambourine). Rain date is the next day, if the gods don’t cooperate.
