Hudson Chorale and Westchester Choral Society - Carmina Burana

In Carmina Burana, Carl Orff transforms medieval poetry into an exuberant journey through the vicissitudes of fortune, the beauties of spring, thrills of love, and scenes of ribald merriment. Its opening movement “O Fortuna” is one of the world's most famous pieces of music, but the full glory of the entire work is heard much less frequently. Antonin Dvořák’s Te Deum is also a stirring drama combining exquisite solos and jubilant choruses. It premiered in New York City in 1892, launching Dvořák's American sojourn.
