How to get real about discussing race and racism with children: a parent conversation with Keelah Helwig

Keelah’s Waldorf journey began 43 years ago, when her parents enrolled her at the Waldorf School of Garden City (WSGC) as a Kindergartener. Keelah attended Spelman College, where she obtained her BA in Theater. Shortly after enrolling her daughters at WSGC, Keelah enrolled in the Franz Winkler Adult Education Foundation Studies program at WSGC, and later received her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Sunbridge Institute. At WSGC, Keelah has served as a faculty member, on the Board of Trustees, as College of Teachers Chair and continuing member, and Early Childhood Chair.
