800 glass lantern slides made between 1890 and 1920 of an unknown family. There is also a video component. Artist Michael Oatman often works at the scale of architecture, his subject matter includes paradigm shifts in science (including critical projects around eugenics, race and the mythologies of science). Space exploration, material culture and long-forgotten collections (from museums, industry and personal archives) are key in his quest to decipher the colonial practices of museums and corporations.
