The topic will be “Situational Awareness” with guest speaker Jackie Emslie.
Jackie Emslie, of the City of Poughkeepsie NY, knows what it is like to be a victim. In her teens, she was subjected to stalking and harassment from a former boyfriend which progressed towards violence and danger. After the case was closed, she made the decision to use her experience as an opportunity to teach others about situational awareness and how to develop their own personal protection and security strategy.
Situational Awareness is exactly what it sounds like: being aware of your surroundings and any potential threats to your safety. Whether in your home, in your vehicle or out and about, different situations require different preparations and techniques for maintaining your safety while living your life to its fullest. Learning to detect and avoid danger is key.
