Garrison Art Center presents Roundels: Running Together by Heather Cox, featuring photographic portraits and intricate photo-sculptures. Using donated snapshots, Cox cuts images into thousands of circles, reassembling them into sculptural forms exploring memory, connection, and transformation. The exhibition runs April 12 – May 4, 2025, with an opening reception on April 12, 5–7 PM.
Amid the pandemic, Cox began collaging orphaned photos, layering them with a stapler’s bite. As sculptures grew heavy, she wore them as metaphorical camouflage—armor, veil, mask—photographing herself and others. These portraits debut alongside their sculptures, reanimating our fragmented collective visual history.
