In her debut solo exhibition, Fractural: Sculpting the Human Condition, Hudson Valley-based artist Aleksandra Scepanovic presents a compelling body of sculptural work exploring identity, resilience, and transformation through fractured, often fragmented forms. A former war reporter turned sculptor, Scepanovic draws from a life shaped by upheaval—across continents, cultures, and political unrest.
Clay, wood, metal, and mixed-media sculptures probe the boundaries between strength and vulnerability, wholeness and rupture. The work is intimate and archetypal, reflecting both personal experience and current social tensions.
The May 3 opening includes an artist talk and participatory clay activity exploring the theme: fracture as becoming.
