Individual and family crisis support provider Family of Woodstock will screen a new short film, “Women Helping Women,” on October 29 during Domestic Violence Awareness month.
The film spotlights the agency’s pioneering efforts in 1980 to help domestic violence survivors get the support they needed to create a new life path. Presented mostly through online video interviews, the film features women who were instrumental in creating the Washbourne House in Kington, the first DV shelter opened between New York City and Albany. A panel/audience discussion will follow.
