"Expo Fidjrossé" emerged from a personal project undertaken by Neal Rosenthal and The Mad Rose Foundation, a family organization, in West Africa during 2019. As curator, he recounts spending several days in the company of an informal artists’ collaborative situated in the Fidjrossé district of Cotonou, Benin's commercial capital. Benin, once Dahomey, a former French colony, resides on the Gulf of Guinea, bordered by Nigeria to the south, Togo to the north, and Burkina Faso and Niger to the east.
