The Rhinebeck Theatre Society presents "Emilia," a play which tells the fictionalized story of Emilia Bassano Lanier. As a female poet in the 16th century, Emilia struggled to find her voice in a male-dominated society. She was also rumored to have had a relationship with Shakespeare's, with speculations that she may be the "Dark Lady" of his sonnets and may have authored many of his famous lines.
