Master the art of drawing and painting the human form! In this 8-week course, students will sharpen their observational skills and strengthen their technique through sight measuring, anatomical proportion, value, contour, and color. Beginning with skeletal studies, gesture drawings, and short figure poses, students will progress to longer poses and more complex figure compositions. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and technical skills to create dynamic figure work that will elevate their portfolio! A sketchbook is required. This class prepares students for advanced classes, including Senior Project, Portfolio Development II, and college applications.
