An old Australian folk song serves to bring four close friends together, even at times when they are emotionally and physically continents apart. Kitty Petersen, a young married woman from Saugerties falls in love with a wealthy Englishman on Barbados. After bearing two children and maintaining a successful career, she finds a way to return to the island. Finding her lover very ill only serves to strengthen her resolve.
