This is the lost, never-released feature film
Dead Ringer. Made to promote rocker Meat Loaf’s follow-up to the highly successful 1977 release
Bat Out of Hell, this film was talked about at length and with much excitement, but mysteriously evaporated into the rock ballad ether. People think it was filmed in 1982…two cuts do exist…it was mentioned in Meat Loaf’s 1999 autobiography, and talk of the film did surface online… but nothing more.
Now, with director Allan Nichols in-person, we are able to screen the director’s cut of Dead Ringer. (dir. Allan F. Nicholls, U.S, 1981-1983, 101m)
