Join us for the opening reception of Wither and Bloom, including paintings by Jordan Nobuko Baker and sculptures by Xan Peters.
Baker creates still-life work of flowers, fruit, vegetables and skulls that explore themes of death, transience and renewal. Peters also uses the skull as a symbol of lost corporeality and truth. He sculpts fine white porcelain to create skulls of extinct animals. These two artists reach into history to express the vulnerabilities of life and truth in a modern age.
The opening reception will be held on November 30th, 4-6 PM. On view through January 5th, Fridays-Mondays 12-5 PM.
