What if the Hudson Valley’s history could be tasted? On May 12, the Hudson River Maritime Museum hosts “Connecting to History Through Wild Foods,” an evening lecture with Wild Hudson Valley co-founders Anna Plattner and Justin Wexler. Drawing on backgrounds in agroforestry, ethnoecology, and land stewardship, the pair will explore how edible native plants have sustained people in the region for millennia—and how those traditions continue through foraging walks, forest farming, and wild food education today. The talk connects ecology, Indigenous knowledge, and Hudson Valley history through the lens of the landscape itself.
