Players from the NY Philharmonic
Players from the NY Philharmonic
Clarion Concerts tops off a terrific 2021-2022 season with their annual spring gala, this year at St. James Place in Great Barrington, MA. The concert at 3pm on 18 June will be followed by an intimate celebration of Clarion Concerts' 65th birthday. The reception will feature a generous spread of finger foods, wine and desserts which ticket holders can enjoy while hobnobbing with the stellar Players from the New York Philharmonic, four superb virtuosi from one of the world’s greatest orchestras. Back by popular demand, the Players are Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples, First Violin section member Yulia Ziskel, Assistant Principal Violist Cong Wu and retired section Cellist Eric Bartlett, who will play two of the most beloved pieces of the chamber music repertoire, Haydn’s “Sunrise” and Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden” string quartets. All these players are widely known not only for their years in the New York Philharmonic, but as enthusiastic chamber musicians, touring soloists, commissioners of new music, and teachers at such institutions as The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and Cleveland Institute of Music. Tickets to the event are $75.
