Charles Curtis performs Music for Cello at EMPAC in Troy

Charles Curtis
All are invited! Internationally acclaimed Charles Curtis performs a Saturday matinee solo program that takes full advantage of the generous acoustic properties of the EMPAC Concert Hall. Music for Cello includes works by Carolyn Chen, Éliane Radigue, Guillaume de Machaut (14th c.), and Curtis's own "Unfinished Song" (1998)—a contrapuntal work influenced by the harmonic world of alternate tunings, renaissance music, South Asian raga-style improvisation, and the song structures of popular music.
