Set against the river views and open hills of Clermont State Historic Site, the Sheep and Wool Showcase feels less like an event than a seasonal ritual. Fiber artists, farmers, and makers gather in a loose village of tents, with skeins of dyed yarn, handwoven textiles, soaps, and small-batch goods forming a kind of tactile landscape of their own.

Shearing demonstrations and grazing animals anchor the day in working agriculture, while historic reenactments and craft stations blur the line between past and present. Kids meet sheep for the first time; adults linger over tools and techniques that predate mass production. Music drifts through the grounds, food stalls keep things convivial, and the whole scene carries a slightly old-world cadence—rooted in material, process, and the slow satisfaction of making something by hand.
