Celebrating Mingus’s 100th Birthday at The Rosendale Theatre

The Music Film Series of The Rosendale Theatre Collective celebrates the late legendary jazz composer/bassist Charles Mingus on the weekend of his centennial. The event has a screening of “Charles Mingus: Triumph of the Underdog” (GP17), a 1997 documentary film narrated by Mingus himself. After the film will be a live performance by the Mingus tribute sextet “Hang ‘Em High.” Directed by bassist Robert Kopec, “Hang ‘Em High” features Joe Vincent Tranchina – Piano, Don Devine – Drums, Jon Leonard – Brass, Eric Person – Sax. Wayne Tice – Reeds.
