Bread and Puppet: "The Obligation to Live"

the-possibilitarians1_bread_and-puppet-theater.webp
In the face of intense political and social adversity, the Bread and Puppet theater is fighting back with its newest production called "The Obligation to Live," emphasizing the duty of humanity to be alive and act against the forces of death. Using large-scale puppetry, music, and dance, director Peter Schumann and his troupe are planting "garlic in the rubble of the empire," as well as in their aioli which they will serve with their famous sourdough bread immediately following the show. Known best for their anti-capitalist messaging and creative forms of protest, the Bread and Puppet theater has and will continue to remind audiences across the Eastern seaboard that humans have the right to demand change within a corrupt system, and they can do so using the power of art and passion. They will be making three different stops in the Hudson Valley on their month-long tour: Tuesday, April 1 at Time and Space Limited in Hudson, Wednesday, April 2 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany, and Sunday, April 6 at Assembly in Kingston.
