Bobby Zankel's Wonderful Sound
Philadelphia based alto-saxophone great, Bobby Zankel, along with his esteemed, Wonderful Sound (this time around a quartet), come to Kingston's Lace Mill on Wednesday, February 25th. Well known for his playing with Cecil Taylor, and training under Ornette Coleman, Zankel moved from New York to Philadelphia in 1975, and has been based there since as a composer and bandleader, considered one its many musical treasures.
