Painter Matthew Zappala’s Birch Trees offers a quiet yet powerful meditation on nature’s forms and rhythms. Drawing inspiration from Robert Frost’s poem Birches, the series evolved from roadside sketches into striking visual compositions. Zappala manipulates space and perspective to create immersive scenes—some serene, others layered and dense. Ranging from abstracted gestures to finely rendered landscapes, the series invites viewers into close communion with the natural world.
