Bass Sitar & Slide Guitar (Hansa Veena)

Radhika and Ramanan both trained under the guidance of the late world-renowned Hansaveena (slide guitar) maestro Pandit Barun Kumar Pal, a senior disciple of Ravi Shankar. Barun played often at Matagiri. Radhika will play the Surbahar (Bass Sitar) Ramanan Venkatraman will play a meditative series of unaccompanied ragas on the Hansa Veena, the instrument based on the slack key lap slide guitar. Ravi Shankar himself gave the name “Hansa (Swan) Veena”.
