BASC: Arts Collective Performance

Every Saturday & Sunday afternoon since June, student artists from Bard College have been doing research and making art using Olana as their laboratory. During their orientation, the 9 students were informed that they could make whatever they wanted while working at Olana, but they needed to use the materials from Olana’s history, things in the box, and the site itself as their creative muse or their “point of departure.” In the same way that Frederic Church used the site for this art-making practice we were curious how young artists would approach this constraint and opportunity.
