Author Event & Book Signing: An American Renaissance by Phillip J. Dodd

The Gilded Age, also referred to as the American Renaissance, brought unparalleled growth and cultural change. To flaunt their wealth, newly-minted millionaires along New York City’s 5th Avenue needed an architecture dripping in embellishment and historical reference fit for the era. Staatsburgh hosts a book talk and signing with Philip James Dodd. Amidst the splendor of the mansion’s formal dining room, Dodd will discuss a selection of Beaux-Arts landmark homes as well as the patrons and architects who created them, including discussion of the Mills family mansion. A wine reception will follow the talk.
