Ashtray

"Ashtray" explores the intersection between dining and smoking. Museum visitors should prepare to be delighted, appalled and informed. Museum guests will learn where and when ashtrays were placed on the dining table. Prepare to see several tables properly laden with sets of dinnerware, including matching ashtrays. Art Deco era 1930s and Mid Century Modern 1950s-1960s ashtrays were often beautiful designs and there will be memorable examples of these genres. More than 100 ashtrays will be on view, both common and rare. Popular culture of multiple decades will be present.
