Artists Conversation and Process

David Crum and Michael Gellatly will hold an informal conversation about their current Mad Rose exhibition. In “Getting from Here to There,” each artist will talk about his process—how the process begins (the “inspiration”), how the work unfolds, how the work-in-progress “talks back” and informs its next stages of growth, how the process completes itself. They will bring some demonstration materials—a series of photos (Gellately) and an unfinished painting (Crum)—to make the process tangible and real for the audience. The artists will be joined by Katherine Crum, art historian/curator and co-founder of The Art Museum Partnership in New York.
