Artist Opening Reception for Thinking Outside the Box by Dede Lifgren

Arbor Gallery presents Thinking Outside the Box, a solo exhibition by Dede Lifgren, on view February 4–March 1, 2026. Since early 2023, Lifgren has worked exclusively with discarded cardboard—soaking, cutting, weaving, stapling, gluing, painting, and adorning the material to push it far beyond its everyday purpose. The resulting works are inventive, tactile, and often surprising, inviting viewers to reconsider what’s worth saving and how creativity can emerge from the overlooked. Opening reception: Saturday, February 7, 5–7pm. Meet the artist at Arbor Gallery, 1875 Route 6, Carmel, NY. Reception is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.
