While women held little stature in 18th-century England, a young woman named Ann Lee came to prominence as a spiritual leader in a movement that came to be known as the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, more commonly called Shakers.
Using the recent film The Testament of Ann Lee as a starting point, Collection Manager Sharon Duane Koomler will provide a short, illustrated presentation and show several objects from the collection connected with Mother Ann.
