The Summer Ensemble will perform 8 concerts celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence
The 35-member Summer Ensemble of the Putnam Chorale will present "An American Tapestry," a seven-concert series across Putnam and Dutchess Counties this summer and fall, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Blending music and history, "An American Tapestry" traces the evolving story of America through song—from the colonial era to the present day. The program features works by early American composer William Billings alongside iconic music by Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, and Irving Berlin, as well as spirituals and patriotic favorites such as My Country Tis' of Thee and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
