Explore sculptural form by making wearable art objects/costumes for an alternative universe. Grades 6-8.
Using recycled materials, including paper, plastic, fabric (and much, much, more!), practice creative design and construction techniques while building wearable objects for an alternative universe. Students will learn how to use a sewing machine, make basic patterns to their own measurements, develop ways to work with recycled materials and experiment widely and bravely with creative design. The workshop will culminate in an exhibit, a series of videos and/or performance. Taught by Kate Hamilton.
