All About Biochar
Darren McAvoy, a biochar expert and Extension Associate Professor of Forestry at Utah State University, will explain biochar’s environmental and soil benefits and describe how to make it using a nearly smokeless burn in a simple metal kiln—small or large, depending on your needs. Rather than being released into the atmosphere, the resulting carbon is locked into the biochar where it’s held for centuries. There will be a weather dependent live demo afterwards.
