"Acquired Tastes": A Radical Jewelry Makeover x SUNY New Paltz Metal exhibition

ACQUIRED TASTES is a sustainability project, an exhibition, and fundraiser for student scholarships and Radical Jewelry Makeover. Work by SUNY New Paltz Metal program students, faculty and alumni will be available for purchase. Radical Jewelry Makeover is an international community jewelry mining and recycling project focused on education and collaboration. We received over 250 lbs of donated jewelry, which we photographed, examined, and sorted. Students are recycling and melting down silver into ingots to process new material, and are dismantling and remaking components with fresh perspective, while learning about all the materials and techniques used in the jewelry industry.
