The show marks Pates’s homecoming after its debut at WOAW Gallery\, Hong Kong. By placing us in local basketball courts around the world and deserting them\, Pates embeds a palpable longing for human connection. He reveals just enough of an empty\, textured environment and a single basketball court to build a world.
