DESCRIPTION:ON FIRE brings together two artists whose lives were shaped by fire. Jim Denney spent more than twenty years as a seasonal wildland firefighter in the forests of the Pacific Northwest\; his paintings are observations\, recollections\, and memorials for burning and vanishing wildlands. Dennis Gordon fought fires for the FDNY for nearly four decades\, beginning in the South Bronx in 1978\; his meticulously detailed sculptures recreate the abandoned tenements\, factories\, and industrial buildings he has explored since boyhood. Paintings by Jim Denney\, sculptures by Dennis Gordon. Opening reception Saturday\, September 5\, 5-7pm. Through October 4.
