Observe the large-scale mixed-media paintings of curator and in-house artist David Lionheart (Newburgh\, NY) and fine artist Stephen Leopold (Denver\, CO)\, whose works evoke nostalgia through beloved superhero characters\, and a sense of pride with portraits of community heroes. In the Main Gallery you’ll also find the critically praised “Slave Cemetery\,” an original\, award-winning graphic novel by rising star illustrator Marcus Owens (age 19). The work brings forth social awareness with a critical view of history.
