For this special community gathering\, our vats will be infused with Indigofera suffruticosa\, sourced directly from traditional artisans in Oaxaca\, Mexico. Unlike other botanical dyes\, Indigo is a living\, breathing vat that requires no mordant and a unique "dip and oxidize" process to reveal its depth. We will gather to wake up the vats\, watching as the fabric emerges from the liquid a startling lime green\, only to transform into a rich\, resonant blue as it meets the air.
