On May 3, over 2,000 volunteers will participate in an annual day of service across hundreds of miles of shoreline in NYC and the Hudson Valley. Riverkeeper, New York's clean water advocacy organization partners with schools, parks, religious communities, paddling groups and scout troops to plan over 100 service projects from Staten Island to the Adirondacks. Thousands of volunteers are needed to remove hundreds of tons of trash, foster native plants, and remove invasive species. Most events welcome children with adult supervision.
