1218: A Countdown — Solo Exhibition by Hudson Valley Sculptor Aleksandra Scepanovic

From September 1–30, 2025, Cornell Creative Arts Center in Kingston presents a solo exhibition by Hudson Valley sculptor Aleksandra Scepanovic. The title marks the number of days remaining in the current U.S. presidential term on opening day—counting down daily until closing. Terracotta heads clamped, wedged, or pressed into found vessels stand as visceral metaphors for an electorate under strain. Spindly plaster figures and layered mixed-media paintings join them in a tense dialogue between political pressure, endurance, and the ticking of time. The exhibition opens during Kingston’s citywide ArtWalk.
